A grandfather has been brutally bashed with hammers by two masked men during a terrifying invasion of his lavish home.
The 60-year-old man was set upon by the duo after they waited in the garage of his Rostrevor mansion for more than an hour Tuesday morning.
The two thugs reportedly hid behind the 60-year-old’s luxury cars, including a Ferrari, before the brazen daylight attack on one of Adelaide’s most prestigious suburbs.

South Australia Police said the man was bashed from behind by the two men, aged between 18 and 22-years-old, armed with a metal pole and hammer.
The 60-year-old, who manages a financial services business, was on his way to work when he was hit a number of times with the hammer, according to The Advertiser.
The police said the grandfather was treated for head injuries at the scene before being rushed to Modbury Hospital.
The man’s daughter-in-law told Seven News the attack was ‘opportunistic’ because the garage door had been left open with three luxury cars left on display.

Police dogs (pictured) were called to track the thugs after 9am Tuesday, but the two men are still on the run
However, all of the cars were left in the garage.
The two men, described as about 158 centimeters tall with slim builds, are still on the run after they fled the mansion after 9.15 Tuesday morning.
Police said one man was wearing a grey, long sleeve hooded top and blue shorts while the second man was wearing a blue and white baseball cap, blue t-shirt, beige knee length shorts and heavy boots.
Police dogs were called to track the two thugs down, however the scent was lost.
