Two men killed and a third rushed to hospital after car drives off a cliff near Horrocks Beach

Two men in their 20s were killed after a car was driven off a cliff near a remote beach in Western Australia’s Midwest region.

Emergency services were called to a private property on White Cliffs Road, 10km north of Horrocks Beach, after a Nissan Patrol dropped 20m to 30m over the edge of a cliff about 3.45am on Sunday.

It’s understood someone on the property called police after waking and realising the men hadn’t come back from their drive.

The third occupant of the Patrol, also a man in his 20s, is believed to have climbed out of the car wreck and scaled the cliff for help.

He remained conscious as he was driven from the scene to Geraldton Hospital, arriving about 8am. It’s understood he was wearing a seatbelt during the crash.

The two deceased men in their 20s were declared dead at the scene.

As of 1pm local time, the car remained flipped on its roof at the bottom of the cliff.

The RAC rescue helicopter assisted emergency personnel and volunteers from Geraldton, Kalbarri and Northampton.

The men’s next of kin have been notified and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
