Police in Oklahoma foiled a potential school shooting Thursday after two gun-wielding juveniles and a 19-year-old man were taken into custody after they allegedly threatened to ‘shoot up’ a high school.

Just before 11:00am Del City police received an emergency tip that a 17-year-old boy was standing across the street from Del City High School brandishing a firearm and ‘making threats to shoot up the school’.

Officer arrived on the scene four minutes afterward and detained the juvenile who was found to be in possession of a semi-automatic pistol.

Following information they obtain during their preliminary investigation, police discovered two others had been with the teen before they arrived.

They quickly located both individuals, a 16-year-old also in possession of a semi-automatic pistol, and 19-year-old Andrew Stiffler, who were both on school grounds.

Del City police refused to comment further, saying an investigation is ongoing and more charges are expected to follow.

It’s unclear whether the 17-year-old teen was a student at the school or not.

Anyone with information is asked to call Del City police at (405) 677-2443.
