Two prisoners charged with murder of former bikie boss Ricky Ciano

Two prisoners have been charged with the murder of a former Rebels bikie.

Half-brothers John Jamie Tozer, 33, and Daniel Michael Bushell, 44, were arrested at Sydney’s Silverwater prison on Thursday over the death of Ricky Ciano.

Ciano’s ‘half-dressed’ body was found sprawled in the back of his luxury BMW in Duckmaloi, in the NSW central tablelands, on Valentine’s Day in 2017 after travelling from the Gold Coast to Sydney.

Police will allege the men gave Ciano a cocktail of prescription and prohibited drugs, which were at fatal levels, and then drove him to Duckmaloi, where they abandoned the car with his body inside.

The men were due to appear at Lithgow Local Court on Friday.

In a funeral service at Pine Grove Memorial Park in Minchinbury last year, the 35-year-old was remembered as a doting father and loving husband who could not wait for the impending arrival of a baby boy.

Ciano left the Sydney chapter of the Rebels Bikie gang in 2015 when he moved to the Gold Coast for a ‘lifestyle change’.

He was told to remove any tattoos linking him to the Rebels.

Rachel Ciano said her husband had last been seen in Penrith, in western Sydney, where he was supposed to be visiting his daughter.

But any hope of reuniting with her missing husband vanished when it was confirmed he had been found dead.
