The figures even higher (80%) for families with kids, according to a survey for kitchen retailer Magnet.

And 93% of forty-somethings say they clean or tidy before the cleaner comes.
We’re fast becoming a nation of Hyacinth Buckets, with 95% of those quizzed saying they consider themselves house-proud.
The living room (46%)* and kitchen (32%) are the two rooms we like to show off the most and a staggering 95% of Brits consider themselves house-proud.
Money talks – at least at home as over two-thirds (67%) say they look after the space they live in as they consider it a long-term investment, according to a poll by kitchen retailer Magnet.
A quarter of us take greater pride in our home than our parents did at the same age and almost a third are prouder than they were 10 years ago, while half of the homeowners surveyed (51%) confess to having been embarrassed about their homes previously when hosting guests.
And it’s not just the furniture and electrical items that matter – half of us say it’s important that crockery and other soft furnishing match. But only for special guests, as the majority of Brits only get their best crockery and cutlery out less than twice a year (78%).
Tech takes top place as the TV is the object we take greatest pride in (15%), followed by the oven (9%) and professional art (10%) – which beats children’s art which is only considered something we’re proud of by 6% of those polled.

A Magnet spokesperson said: ‘We set out to identify how house-proud we are as a nation and we were reassured to see just how much a nice home means to us.
‘In times of economic uncertainty, people want a home they can not only see a haven they can relax and de-stress in, but also show off to friends and visitors as a marker of what they work hard for.
‘We see where we live as a reflection of ourselves and put a great deal of effort into making it a space we can take pride in.’
Yorkshire (96%) is the most house-proud region of the country, while those in Wales considered this the least important.
It’s the older generation (the over 70s) who are most proud of their homes (98%), surprisingly closely followed by millennials (96%).
