Two women have accused actor Richard Dreyfuss (pictured in October 2017) of groping them while they were backstage at a 2004 Broadway production
Two New York women have accused actor Richard Dreyfuss of ‘groping and grabbing’ them while they were backstage at a 2004 Broadway production.
The women, only identified as Beth, 48, and Susan, 52, of Long Island, have released four photos they took with Dreyfuss during a meet-and-greet following his performance in Sly Fox.
In the photos, published by the New York Daily News on Tuesday, the 70-year-old actor is seen squeezing one woman’s buttocks, and placing his hands near another woman’s crotch.
‘The first thing he did was give me a hug, and he stuck his hand almost in the crack of my butt. He didn’t even give me any warning,’ Beth told the newspaper.
Another photo shows the Jaws actor with his arms wrapped around one of the women as he planted a kiss on her cheek.
The women claim they followed someone at the theater offering to introduce them to Dreyfuss backstage.
Once there, they said, the star’s touching was forceful and came without warning.
Beth told the Daily News that she may have been smiling, but the incident left her feeling ‘so uncomfortable’.

‘It was such a weird, awkward feeling,’ she said. Susan told the newspaper that Dreyfuss ‘kissed me without permission’.
‘I’m smiling in the photo, but it was a nervous smile. I didn’t know how to react. I was so surprised.’
Both women said they decided to speak out about the encounter after Dreyfuss ’emphatically denied’ accusations that he exposed himself to writer Jessica Tiech.
Teich, 58, spoke out in an interview with Vulture released on November 10, claiming that Dreyfuss behaved lewdly when she worked as a junior writer on his ABC comedy special in the 1980s.
But the actor denied those claims.
‘I emphatically deny ever “exposing” myself to Jessica Teich, whom I have considered a friend for 30 years,’ he said.

‘I did flirt with her, and I remember trying to kiss Jessica as part of what I thought was a consensual seduction ritual that went on and on for many years.
‘I am horrified and bewildered to discover that it wasn’t consensual. I didn’t get it. It makes me reassess every relationship I have ever thought was playful and mutual,’ he said.
His denial came just days after he defended his son, Harry, who had allegations against Kevin Spacey.
Harry, recounting the allegation in a first-hand account for Buzzfeed News, wrote that the incident occurred in 2008, when he was a high school senior.
He said his father, the Oscar-winning star of Jaws, The Goodbye Girl and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, was appearing in a play, Complicit, directed by Spacey at the Old Vic, a theater in London.
Harry said Spacey placed his hand on his thighs multiple times during his father’s rehearsal.
Dreyfuss has not commented on the release of the photos.
