The family of a two-year-old boy who was left screaming in agony after being caught on a ‘razor sharp’ travelator have called for increased safety measures.

Little Brock was shopping with his grandmother Mandy Naysmith at the Mandurah Forum, south of Perth when he fell on the travelator as he attempted to step off it, according to PerthNow.

‘There was blood everywhere, and he was screaming,’ Ms Naysmith said.

His mother Lisa Daniels said the wounds on his hands are infected after the incident.

Her son is now on antibiotics to fight the infection.

Ms Daniels shared details of her son’s injuries on social media, and other shoppers at the complex shared similar tales of falls and near misses.

A Mandurah Forum spokesperson said travelators come with emergency stop buttons and anti-slip measures.

The spokesperson said children are advised to hold the hand of an adult on the travelators.
