Police were called to Government Road, Nelson Bay, NSW, just before 2am last Sunday after a passerby spotted a four-year-old girl walking by herself.

When the parents returned, police allegedly found meth and cannabis inside of the mother’s purse and charged the pair with abandoning children and drug possession.

The female children, aged 4 and 2 were removed from their parents’ custody and the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) were contacted.

The irresponsible parents are expected to appear in Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday 27 November 2017.
