A body found buried in a shallow grave on a rural property south-west of Melbourne has been identified as a local father.

Jade Goodwin’s body was discovered in a paddock on the vacant property at Tyabb, an hour south-west of Melbourne, just after 9pm on Sunday.

Police – who have remained tight-lipped about the gruesome find – also discovered a pair of gloves and duct tape nearby, and are treating the death as suspicious.

Confirming the death of the local father, believed to be in his late 30s, Mr Goodwin’s family and friends took to Facebook to call on police to ‘find the people who took Jadey’s life’.

‘Jade Goodwin, what a man you were. I have just found this info about your body being found in Tyabb,’ one woman posted on Facebook.

‘You may be gone jade but far from forgotten my friend. I pray they find who took your life Jadey and when they do I pray justice is done.’
