Featherweight star Shakur Stevenson reveals his top five pound-for-pound list, which includes Tyson Fury.

While ‘Sugar’ has included ‘The Gypsy King’ in his coveted list, there is no room for two boxing legends.

Tyson Fury, the WBC heavyweight champion of the world, remains unbeaten in the ring following his recent victory over Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia last month.

Stevenson, who has a professional record of 20-0, also named Terence ‘Bud’ Crawford in his top five list. The welterweight king was recently stripped of the IBF championship. Crawford was stripped of the belt due to his inability to compete in a mandatory title defence against Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis because of the rematch clause from his fight against Errol Spence Jr.

Stevenson also included himself in the list but decided to omit two big stars of the sport.

Naoya Inoue and Gervonta Davis are the other two fighters that were included.

Boxing stars Oleksandr Usyk and Canelo Alvarez have both been left out of the top-five pound-for-pound list.

Speaking to talkSPORT’s Gareth A Davies, Stevenson explained why he omitted Canelo and Usyk, claiming that it was simply his preference.

‘Usyk is a hell of a fighter, I can’t take nothing away from him, but it’s just my preference, I like all of them guys,’ he said.

‘One guy that I really missed on that list is Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, I like him a lot, too. I think that he’s a hell of a fighter.

‘It’s all preference, though. If I missed Usyk or Canelo… it’s just because that’s my preference.

‘At the end of the day you can’t really make a real pound-for-pound list because it’s preference to everybody.’

Many fans would have the Ukrainian as their number due to the fact that he has held titles in multiple weight classes. Usyk defeated Daniel Dubois in his last outing and is now eyeing up an undisputed showdown with Fury next year.

The American also gave his reasoning for including himself on the list, saying: ‘I’m barely even chasing pound-for-pound, being on the pound-for-pound list, I’m barely chasing that, I wanna be number one.

‘And until I’m number one I won’t stop because when you’re number one, they know you’re number one.’

Stevenson last stepped foot inside the ring back in April when he defeated Shuichiro Yoshino in the sixth-round to keep his unbeaten record intact. While the undefeated star is eyeing up a potential showdown with either Vasiliy Lomachenko or Gervonta Davis, he must first get through Edwin De Los Santos.

‘Sugar’ will go head-to-head with De Los Santos at the T-Mobile Arena on November 16.
