Tyson Fury has announced he will not be applying for a fresh boxing licence.
The former world champion has not fought since July 2015, when he captured a series of titles from Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf.
But Fury had to postpone a series of rematches with Klitschko before being charged by UK Anti-Doping for the ‘presence of a prohibited substance’ from a sample taken in February 2015.

And on October 12 2016 he vacated the titles he had not had stripped from him before having his licence suspended the next day by the British Boxing Board of Control.
He is also subject to an anti-doping hearing that means he cannot apply for a licence. It was meant to take place in May but was pushed back indefinitely, leaving Fury in limbo.
Fury spent has spent much of 2017 training for a potential comeback but now seems to have put an end to those plans.
He wrote on Twitter: ‘After thinking long & hard about my return I will not be applying for aBBBOCboxinglicense. After they way they have handled stuff. No thanks (sic).’
Fury attempts to enter the ring after Hughie Fury’s fight against Joseph Parker
Fury attempted to make a return on the undercard of Josh Warrington’s fight against Kiko Martinez on May 13.
However, the BBBofC made it clear that Fury still did not have a licence and would not be allowed to fight at that event.
After further disagreements in the public sphere, Fury challenged UKAD in September to either lift their suspension on him or ban him permanently.
The Wythenshawe-born heavyweight tweeted at that point: ‘How long must I be held up and kept out of action? It’s been 15 months since I’ve been under investigation, you’re keeping an innocent man from fulfilling his destiny and from providing for his family.’
Fury accompanied his cousin Hughie to the ring as he challenged for the WBO world heavyweight title against Joseph Parker in Manchester last week. The elder Fury was furious when his relative did not win the fight.
