Tyson Fury’s heavyweight blockbuster against Dillian Whyte is officially confirmed for April 23, with the Gypsy King set to look to defend his title at Wembley in homecoming fight after both stars signed their deals
Tyson Fury will look to defend his WBC world heavyweight title against Dillian Whyte at Wembley on April 23, his promoter Frank Warren has confirmed.
The highly-anticipated all-British showdown has finally been rubber-stamped, with the duo having reached an agreement earlier this week.
Whyte had hesitated over putting pen to paper due to his anger over the purse split, a stance which angered his opponent, but finally signed the deal.

The fight will be the Gypsy King’s homecoming fight after almost four years boxing in America, a spell which included his stunning trilogy triumph over Deontay Wilder.
‘Tyson Fury coming home to fight under the arch at Wembley Stadium is a fitting reward for the No 1 heavyweight in the world following his exploits across the Atlantic in his epic trilogy against Deontay Wilder,’ Warren said.
‘The fact that this mandatory defence of his WBC title comes against another Brit only adds to the occasion. They are two of the biggest characters in British sport and both normally have plenty to say for themselves.

Frank Warren (L) said the bout has been rubber-stamped and is relishing the ‘incredible night’
‘It is going to be an incredible night and a huge occasion for sport in this country that will capture the imagination of fans right across the world.’
Bob Arum, meanwhile, said: ‘Tyson Fury conquered America, and it is only fitting that he defends the heavyweight championship in a packed Wembley Stadium.
‘Dillian Whyte has called for this fight for years, and while he is a deserving challenger, no heavyweight can match “The Gypsy King.”
‘This is going to be a momentous night of boxing with tens of thousands of fans in attendance at Wembley Stadium.’
