A Gold Coast Uber driver allegedly locked the doors to his car before raping a 20-year-old female passenger.
The Coombabah man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with rape and assault following the incident on September 23.
The 24-year-old had been driving for the company for just two months and was denied bail in Southport Magistrates Court Court Saturday, according to the Gold Coast Bulletin.

The attack is alleged to have occurred after the woman ordered a vehicle around 1am from Surfers Paradise.
The driver is believed to have then stopped the car during the journey, according to police, before sexually assaulting the 20-year-old.
The Indian student allegedly locked the woman in his car, leaned her seat back and kissed her during the attack, News Corp reports.
The ride-sharing driver denied the allegations, with lawyer Sam Jackson claiming he had no criminal history.

‘Evidence of the alleged assault is limited to the complainant,’ Mr Jackson said, adding that it was an ‘isolated’ incident.
The Magistrate refused bail, saying that the ‘vulnerable woman’ was ‘preyed upon’ by the man.
The accused will remain in custody and is due to appear in court again in early October.
