UFC fighter Sedriques Dumas is arrested in Florida on battery charges after posting footage of tense altercation with police on social media

UFC fighter Sedriques Dumas has been arrested in Florida on battery charges.

It comes after the 28-year-old fighter uploaded footage of a tense confrontation with police in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

According to Escambia County jail records, Dumas was booked at 6:14am on Tuesday. At the time of writing he is still in jail.

The footage on Facebook shows Dumas telling officers he was ‘just walking to blow off steam’ when they got to him.

Officers say they were called to deal with a ‘disturbance’ after a woman’s boyfriend was ‘banging on the door’, ‘ringing the doorbell’ and ‘bothering her.’

Dumas uploaded footage of a tense confrontation with police officers to Facebook

As one officer goes to check on somebody inside the house, Dumas questioned why the were shining a light on them. 

‘I don’t know why you’re flashing the light on her,’ he can be heard saying.

‘What, are you trying to say I hit her or some s***? Please don’t f***ng play with me like that.’

Dumas continued to question the officers and said: ‘I’m beyond f***ing pi****… I’m just walking to blow off steam and she want to come out me and tell me I’m disrupting?’ 

With almost three minutes left of the video, Dumas then appears to be handcuffed by the officers although the screen goes black.

Dumas most recently claimed a unanimous decision victory over Abu Azaitar in Abu Dhabi

Dumas most recently fought on October 21 in Abu Dhabi.

He claimed a unanimous decision victory over Abu Azaitar to maintain his progress in the UFC. 

The middleweight, nicknamed ‘The Reaper’, currently boasts a 9-1 record as a pro fighter.

Dumas is due to fight Nursulton Ruziboev at UFC Fight Night in Atlantic City on March 30. However, he is no longer on the card on UFC’s website.
