The unnamed woman, 35, was strolling past an old building when a huge concrete block fell down on her in the city of Dnipro in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast region.

The block fell off the rooftop of the building and missed her head by inches, reports said.

The moment of the incident was filmed by a surveillance camera and later shared online by local media.

The clip shows two women walking down the street in the centre of the city.

They had just passed the porch of a building when a huge slab of concrete fell down on them.

The slab missed the head of the woman, wearing a black dress, by inches and came crashing down behind her.

The shocked victim fell to the ground as the slab hit her on the left foot, smashing her shoe but only scratching her skin causing minor injuries.

Evgen Gavrylov, the head of the hospital’s Trauma Department said to local media: ‘The woman was hospitalised in a state of shock.

‘She sprained her ankles and got bruises to her left foot. Luckily, she got away with minor injuries and her life is not in danger.’

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.

Police spokesman Vasyl Leonovets said: ‘The concrete parts fell off the rooftop of an old building.

‘They injured the woman who was going past at the moment and damaged the windscreen of a car that was parked near the building.’

According to local residents, the streets in the centre are not safe for walking.

Local resident Ulyana said: ‘I have seen many times the parts of facade falling down from the old buildings in the area. I’m afraid for my life when I walk down the street there.’
