UK’s fast food drive-thru hotspots are revealed: Manchester and Glasgow top the table with McDonald’s and KFC most popular among hungry motorists

Fast food lovers in the UK should head to Manchester and Glasgow if they want to curb their hunger, as it’s revealed the cities have 48 drive-thrus each for peckish passengers and drivers.
Manchester has 17 McDonald’s drive-thrus, three Starbucks, one Costa, 22 KFC’s, one Subway, one Burger King and even a Greggs.
Further north and residents in Glasgow can indulge in 19 McDonald’s, four Starbucks, two Costa’s, 20 KFC’s and one Burger King.
Birmingham was found to have the third most drive-thrus in the country, followed by Liverpool and Sheffield.

The data was compiled by car company Zuto. It analysed 63 cities and found that out of the top five with the most – only Manchester offered a Greggs.
The data also revealed that out of the 63 cities analysed there are 447 McDonald’s and 211 KFC drive-thrus.
Motorists preferred the McDonald’s drive-thrus in areas such as, Leicester, Sterling, Cardiff, Norwich and Aberdeen. While ones in Glasgow, Belfast, Birmingham, and two branches in Manchester were voted as some of the worst in the country.
This is while the best-rated KFCs were in Leeds, Bradford, Belfast, Wolverhampton and Glasgow. However, motorists in Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Nottingham and Norwich said branches in their cities were some of the worst.
The data also showed that fast food lovers in Birmingham were spoilt for choice with 20 McDonald’s drive-thrus located across the city.
Birmingham was also the city with more Starbucks drive-thrus than anywhere else in the UK with nine.
The cities with the least drive-thrus are Hereford, Inverness, Lancaster, Newry and Wells – all having just two.

Greater London has 24 drive-thru chains – with Burger King being the most sought after with 12.
This is compared to just three McDonalds while Greater London has four Stabucks drive-thrus compared to just one Costa.
The data also found that at least one McDonalds drive thru is stationed in all of the 63 cities across the UK.
The best rated McDonalds can be found in Leicester while the worst rated is based in Glasgow.
It comes as data also revealed that many drivers in the UK are breaking the law without knowing it.
Click4reg.co.uk quizzed 2,192 British drivers on some of the more unusual/niche rules of the road and found that one of the rules which was most broken was using your phone to pay for things at drive-thrus.
Using a phone behind the wheel is a known offence which apparently doesn’t apply when you’re hungry.
Only 23 per cent were aware it was illegal and a whopping 78 per cent admitted to doing it.
