A young girl has been taken to hospital after a vehicle ploughed into a crowd at a monster truck show.

Families had met at the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds south of Brisbane, Queensland for the Ultimate Monster Truck Show.

They were only 30 minutes into the high-octane event when the accident happened about 6.40pm.

A Queensland police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia a car had driven into the barrier.

A Facebook post from Lauren Prestwood described the terror of the scene.

‘A car ran into a family right in front of us.

‘Those poor children that were run over. I hope they are going to be OK.’ 

It is believed that a young girl was taken to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital with ‘non-life threatening’ injuries.

Police have located the driver since the accident.
