Urgent alert for thousands as Covid fragments are found in sewage affecting five Sydney suburbs – despite no nearby cases

Fragments of Covid-19 have been found in a Sydney sewage plant that serves about 8,400 people across five suburbs.

NSW Health issued the alert on Monday morning after the particles were discovered at the Castle Hill Sewage Network, in the city’s north-west.

The catchment area includes Glenhaven, Dural, Kenthurst, Kellyville and Castle Hill.
