Uncle’s Smallgoods’ has issued a recall of its sliced ham which has been available for sale at IGAs and independent grocery stores, and butchers across Victoria.

Uncle’s Ham products affected have a best before date of 23 March, 2022.

Food Standards Australia said the recall is due to microbial contamination (listeria monocytogenes), which may cause illness if consumed.

‘Listeria monocytogenes may cause illness in pregnant women and their unborn babies, the elderly and people with low immune systems,’ FSA said.

‘Consumers should not eat this product.’

Any consumers concerned about their health are advised to seek medical advice and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
