The diaries that will make Boris Johnson quake: US businesswoman Jennifer Arcuri says she kept notes of private phone conversations with the PM during alleged affair
- Jennifer Arcuri, 34, said she was writing a book about friendship with Johnson
- It will address allegations of a conflict of interest by the Prime Minister
- Book based on diary entries which Arcuri wrote ‘verbatim’ after their phone calls
The American businesswoman who says she had a close friendship with Boris Johnson kept diaries about their relationship – including notes of their private phone conversations, it was claimed last night.
Jennifer Arcuri, 34, said that she was writing a book about the friendship that would address allegations of a conflict of interest by the Prime Minister for failing to declare their links while he was London Mayor.
Ms Arcuri said: ‘I have about seven years of diary entries, and it’s been fascinating for me to go back and read what I wrote.

‘Because many times he would call me and I would pick up the phone and write down our entire conversation verbatim.
‘And let’s be very clear here – I don’t have an ode to Boris Johnson, it’s not like I have a diary about Boris, I have a diary about my life. I have over 50 of them.
‘When this was coming out I went back to that diary to see am I just remembering this wrong?
‘Because it’s been a few years and I’ve had a lot of growing up, etc. But there’s very much a story there.’

The pole-dancing technology entrepreneur told The Sunday Times that she was in talks with literary agents about the book.
She said: ‘I’m debating what kind of story I’m going to tell . . . It’s not a threat against him [Mr Johnson]. It’s not trying to give the Boris haters a carrot.’
The Independent Office for Police Conduct is considering whether there is sufficient evidence to mount a criminal investigation against Mr Johnson for ‘alleged misconduct in public office’.
Ms Arcuri is angry that Mr Johnson has failed to admit their friendship. She said: ‘What can I possibly do to make this man acknowledge me?
‘Is it exposing intimate details of my diaries, is it showing screenshots of conversations…?’
