US forces have downed some of the Iran-launched drones flying toward Israel, according to officials.
A defense official told CNN that troops had managed to bring down the drones as part of their ‘ironclad commitment’ to Israel.
The official said: ‘In accordance with our ironclad commitment to Israel’s security, US forces in the region continue to shoot down Iranian-launched drones targeting Israel
‘Our forces remain postured to provide additional defensive support and to protect US forces operating in the region.’
Fox News reported that another official confirmed to them that the US military had managed to shoot down ‘dozens’ of the drones.

The New York Times have managed to verify the authenticity of photos and videos showing the debris of drones that had been taken down over Jordan.
The outlet said they had not been able to identify whether it was an Iranian missile, or an interceptor from either Israel or the US.
Social media footage shows the skies above Jordan being littered with explosions as drones are intercepted.
As well as drones being intercepted, the US has sent the war ship Bataan as well as two support ships with 2,500 Marines onboard into the Eastern Mediterranean.
