Si Woo Kim narrowly avoided injury from a very wayward shot from Keith Mitchell at the US Open on Saturday but thankfully the Korean saw the funny side.

He was stood at the tee on the 15th hole alongside his playing partner Bryson DeChambeau when the warning cries were called out from Mitchell’s shot. 

He ducked for cover and the ball hit his bag instead, knocking it over.

But instead of breathing a sigh of relief, the 27-year-old instead took the chance to prank his fellow player by lying on the ground and holding his side, pretending to be injured.

He soon jumped back on to his feet to share the laughs with Mitchell as he approached to apologize for his shot and gave him a hug,

It is, at times, a very narrow course at the Los Angeles Country Club – as Mitchell found out as he fought his way around the par-give 14th.

Fortunately, the incident didn’t do anything to distract Kim.

He went on to make a birdie at the 15th as he fought to cement his place inside of the top 20 of the leaderboard.

Kim is ranked 31st in the golf world rankings and has four PGA Tour victories to his name

The 31-year-old Mitchell is 59th in the rankings.
