Usher celebrates wedding anniversary amidst herpes drama

Usher celebrated his wedding anniversary with second wife Gracie Miguel earlier this week, despite his ongoing legal battles against a number of individuals who are accusing the singer of giving them herpes.

Gracie posted a photo of the two embracing on Instagram Wednesday, writing: That time my husband surprised me on our anniversary to a day of soul cycle with @shapewithangela, The Chagall Show @lacma, Pranayama breathing, Kirtan Chanting and yummy Moroccan food.’

In another they are seen at their ceremony in Cuba two years prior, with Gracie writing: ‘I will spend an eternity loving you, caring for you, respecting you, showing you every day that I hold you as high as the stars.’

Meanwhile, a woman accusing Usher of giving her genital herpes claims her babies were stillborn because of the STD, while a man says he was exposed to the disease after having sex with the singer in a Los Angeles Spa.

The claims were made in legal documents filed as part of a lawsuit in which the man and woman, along with a third woman, accuse Usher of exposing them to genital herpes.

Usher, 38, has denied ‘each and every allegation’ made by the trio, though the new court documents say he has refused to take an STD test.

The man involved in the joint lawsuit claims that he and Usher had sex in a Koreatown spa in Los Angeles.

One of the women involved in the case claimed that she contracted the sexually transmitted disease after she and the singer had sex at least twice.

She later became pregnant and gave birth to stillborn twins. She claims that her children’s deaths were a direct result of the herpes diagnosis.

Usher, 38, has denied ‘each and every allegation’ made by the trio, though the new court documents say he has refused to take an STD test.

Usher’s attorney, Zia Modabber, told TMZ, ‘Usher will defend himself vigorously in court against these opportunistic claims and we will not comment further on private legal matters.’

This latest woman joins two others females who have accused the singer in the past few weeks.

Two of those women say they contracted herpes from Usher – while the other was simply exposed to the disease.

Laura Helm of Fulton County, Georgia, states in court papers filed on Tuesday that she is the ‘Jane Doe’ who alleged that Usher infected her with a sexually transmitted disease after the pair engaged in sexual relations on two separate occasions.

She also details these alleged encounters in her updated court filing, stating that Usher took showers before and after their hook-ups and that the singer would rush from the room towards the end so that she was never able to see him ejaculate.

Helm was initially asking for $10million in her lawsuit but upped that to $80million after she tested positive for the Herpes Simplex 2 virus this past July.

Helm claims that she and Usher were friends for years and that their relationship only became sexual in April 2017 after the defendant spent a night with her discussing his ‘humanitarian efforts in Africa, [his] concern about the general contamination and impurity of water supply sources, [his] installation of a complete water filtration system in his home to filter contaminants from his drinking and shower/toilet water, [his] lack of nervousness prior to performances, the state of American politics and current events.’

It was after a few hours of conversing on these subject matters that the two ‘began engaging in intimate and sexual relations in [Helm’s] bedroom.’

This included ‘skin-to-skin contact’ and then ‘vaginal-penile intercourse’ with a condom that Usher had brought with him according to the complaint.

Quantasia Sharpton, 21, told YouTube vlogger Miss Jacob Kohinoor that she filmed the alleged sex act with the ‘U Remind Me’ singer and claims he knew he was being recorded, according to TMZ earlier this month.

Sharpton said she attended an Usher concert in November 2014 held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, to celebrate her 19th birthday.

She said she was picked from the crowd and invited backstage to meet the singer.

Sharpton says that, while backstage, a security guard took down her phone number and she later received a call from Usher – after which they ended up at her hotel room and had sex. She was staying at the Days Inn where rates start around $55-a-night.

But she insists he never told her he has genital herpes.

‘He never warned me about any STDs,’ Sharpton said during a press conference last month with her attorney, Lisa Bloom.

‘When I first heard reports that he had herpes, I couldn’t believe it. I had a child a year ago, and I knew I was negative. But I contacted Lisa Bloom to find out what my rights are as a woman.

‘Although I am negative, I was upset by the reports, because I would never have consented if I had known. I would not have taken a risk of getting an incurable disease.’

The 21-year-old is one of three people alleging that sexual encounters with the R&B star exposed them to herpes.

The man involved in accusations against Usher has only been identified John Doe in the lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court.

In July, documents leaked online alleged that Usher has been a carrier of the virus since 2009 or 2010 and that he infected a partner with herpes in 2012.

The leaked documents also alleged that Usher paid the woman’s medical bills and settled what is alleged to be a civil suit for $1.1million.

Usher has denied ‘each and every allegation’ made by the trio.

In the records, the singer – full name Usher Raymond IV – said in court filings that even if there was any sexual contact made there was no intention to harm.

A filing from earlier this month said: ‘Any alleged conduct by Defendant, which is expressly denied, was unintentional.’

In addition the paperwork states that in any sexual contact which may have took place ‘each plaintiff assumed the risk of any alleged harm.’

The documents were filed by Usher’s lawyers Laura Wasser and Zia Modabber.

The filing also states: ‘Any harm that any plaintiff alleges to have suffered was caused in whole or in part by that plaintiff’s own negligence.’
