The United States team picked up a 5-0 win over the Dominican Republic in the CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup on Tuesday night.

The USA got things off to an early start after 18-year-old Olivia Moultrie scored the game’s opening goal only seven minutes into her international debut thanks to a left footed shot from just in front of the goal.

Lynn Williams was next to put her name on the score sheet after she put a shot into the back of the net from close range thanks to a well-placed assist from Midge Purce.

After the Americans went into the half with a 2-0 advantage the Dominican Republic made three substitutions at halftime to turn things around, but the changes could not stop the bleeding.

It took the Americans only until the 58 minute to score their third goal of the contest thanks to Moultrie finding the back of the net for her the second time.

The two goals were Moultrie’s first ever in a USWNT jersey.

Moultrie was the first player subbed off by the USWNT and received a well earned applause after her tantalizing debut.

After making a flurry of substitutions between the 66 and 77 minute marks it seemed that the scoring may have ended for the night before the Americans found the back of the net again in the 86 after Jenna Nighswonger converted the team’s first penalty of the night by slotting the ball into the bottom left corner.

The last and final goal was eventually scored by Alex Morgan after she converted a penalty kick in the 92 minute by putting the ball into the lower right corner this time.

Morgan had subbed into the game in the 67 to replace Sophia Smith.

The veteran Morgan had been called up as an injury replacement following the torn ACL suffered by Mia Fishel.
