A 28-year-old man was allegedly caught with more than $200million worth of methylamphetamine after his van crashed into a parked police car. 

The Toyota HiAce allegedly hit police cars that were parked outside the police station on Ethel Street in the north-western Sydney suburb of Eastwood around 10.30am on Monday. 

One of the police vehicles was significantly damaged, but no one was injured.

During the search, police found multiple moving boxes filled with bags of methylamphetamine

The van was later stopped and searched on Church Street, Ryde, at about 11.30am.

In total, police seized 273kg of ice, which has an estimated street value of more than $200million.

Police also seized the van for extensive forensic examination.

The driver, a 28-year-old man, was arrested and taken to Ryde Police Station.

He was charged with large commercial drug supply, negligent driving, and not give particulars to police.

The man was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday.  

Detectives are appealing for motorists to provide dash cam footage from the area between 10.30am and 11.30am, as well as any CCTV or other vision, or information about the van’s movements throughout the morning.
