There were bold looks aplenty at this year’s Melbourne Fashion Week, where designers set out to make veils and neck bows the hottest looks this summer.
Models could have been walking down a wedding aisle rather than a runway with many of their delicate netted headpieces, if it wasn’t for the plunging black gowns and flirty spring dresses they were paired with.
Some designers opted for classic veils with elegant details while other pieces more closely resembled peacock feathers or a space helmet.

The show-stopper at the JASONGERCH show was a tulle black gown with a daring studded cut-out that celebrities will be clamoring for – although it remains to be seen if they will opt for the black net veil that covered the model’s face
One of the quirkier veils looked like the spread of a peacock’s feathers radiating from the model’s nose – or, less poetically, a lost fight with a gnarly bush – that was paired with a black polka dot dress with sheer sleeves
