When she first appeared on America’s TVs back in June, Darci Lynne Farmer became an instant viral sensation.
And now the 12-year-old ventriloquist is wowing audiences once again after making a repeat appearance on America’s Got Talent’s Tuesday installment and performing an incredible rendition of The Jackson 5’s Who’s Lovin’ You – with her mouth completely closed.
The young talent, who had previously earned the Golden Buzzer, had her new puppet co-star, a fluffy mouse named Oscar, admit: ‘I fell in love with Mel B.’

Joking around: Darci is seen feigning horror after Oscar suggests that he and Mel B can make it work since ‘Heidi married a seal’
Belting out: Darci barely moved her lips as she delivered an incredible vocal performance
After joking that ‘I think she’s afraid of mice’ Oscar the mouse was told that the bigger problem was that he was a rodent while Mel is human.
‘I didn’t think that was an issue — I mean Heidi was married to a seal,’ the mouse quipped, referencing Heidi’s ex-husband, before singing Who’s Lovin’ You dedicated to Mel.
‘Oscar, I will date you,’ she insisted, leading Simon to quip: ‘Oscar, get a prenup.’
‘That’s what I forgot to do last time,’ Mel joked, before host Tyra Banks told Oscar and Mel ‘to get a room.’
After Mel called Darci ‘out of this world,’ Simon insisted: ‘Get ready for the big time because it’s coming your way.’
Hitting the mark: After the song, Mel B dubbed Darci’s performance as ‘out of this world’
Partners: Before hitting the stage, Darci happily posed up for pictures with her dummy
Obsessed: The judges were blown away by the young girl’s remarkable performance
‘Most people can’t even sing with their mouth open,’ Heidi pointed out, joking: ‘I mean Howie can’t do anything with his mouth shut.’
Darci first captured America’s heart when she stole the show in June with a stunning rendition of Summertime.
In her first appearance on the show, she stepped onstage holding her rabbit puppet, apparently slightly nervous as she chatted with the judges—but any hint of stage fright disappeared as she sang the first notes of the song.
The Oklahoma City girl immediately stunned the judges with her powerful voice, which seemed to rise miraculously from her apparently shut mouth.
Young ventriloquist: Darci of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma brought her remarkable act to America’s Got Talent for the first time last month
Big fan: Mel B told Darci that she melted her heart and she pressed her Golden Buzzer, sending the girl straight to the live shows as a reward for her performance
Won over: The girl even earned sincere praise from Simon Cowell, who over the years has earned a reputation as one of the harshest critiques on the show
Darci expertly moved the puppet around, as if the enchanting voice were coming from the rabbit named Petunia.
The amazing performance went so well Darci earned a standing ovation and the highest honor of the show.
Judge Mel B, struggling to explain how amazing she’d found the act, reached towards the other side of the desk and hit the golden buzzer.
With that, Mel B ensured Darci would go straight to the live shows, regardless of the other judges’ opinions—although they looked just as convinced as her.
Darci, meanwhile, was left in tears, overwhelmed by the honors.
‘I love you and I believe you are going far, you just changed your life tonight,’ said Howie Mandel after she told him she had only been performing for two years.
Too much to take: Darci, who told judges she hopes to keep ventriloquism alive because it’s ‘not common’, burst into tears after receiving a standing ovation
Buddies: Simon later posed for a photo with the gifted ventriloquist after showering her with praise during the taping, telling her he’d remember her for a long time
In good company: Darci also posed for pictures with Mel, who pressed the golden buzzer in her honor, and Tyra Banks, who was making her hosting debut on the show
The mom has revealed that, even though she and Darci’s father are their daughter’s biggest fans, they once resisted her idea of singing with a puppet.
‘Actually, her dad and I discouraged the puppet for a long time,’ Misty told KFOR.
‘It was her persistence,’ Darci’s father Clarke added. ‘That’s what told us how passionate she was about it.’
The little girl initially relied on the puppet because she was too shy to sing in front of her own father.
She has been on cloud nine ever since her astounding performance. ‘These last 24 hours have been unbelievable!!’ she tweeted on Thursday.
Darci also thanked Simon on her Facebook page, writing: ‘THANK YOU MR SIMON!!! I think I’m still dreaming! I need to pinch myself! Thank you for all of the nice things you said to me.’
