Fitness expert David Souter claimed last week that the likes of Lauren, Scarlett and Vicky achieved their famed image overhaul by attending a bootcamp where they ‘starved themselves’ – yet insisted their DVDs helped achieve the results.

While the other stars have remained relatively coy over the allegations, Vicky seemed particularly perturbed by the allegations as he appeared on the show.

She told the TV host: ‘Like anyone who wants to lose weight, whether in public eye or not, you’re going to have to lower calorie intake to do that.

‘So yes, I did go on a diet but it wasn’t anything ludicrous or wacky, I was just making more conscious decisions’.

Now and then: While Vicky has had a changing shape, she is determined to keep up her fitness journey

While Vicky has always been candid about the fact she feels she went too far with her diet, she insists this was not the fault of the video but more her mindset.

She continued: ‘Like anyone who wants to lose weight, whether in public eye or not, you’re going to have to lower calorie intake to do that. so yes, I did go on a diet. But it wasn’t anything ludicrous or wacky, I was just making more conscious decisions.’

Pushing the note of her unhappy times, when she shrank down to a tiny size six, she went on: ‘I’ve been very honest about that all the way through.

‘I don’t blame the DVD for that either, just just who I am. If I’m eating well and training well I’ll be drinking kale smoothies and giving birth to avocados, that’s the kind of person I am, but if I’m on a night out I’m on a night out, I’m quite extreme.’

She said: ‘It’s a complicated subjective and everyone is different. I’m not here to talk about anyone else’s journeys.

‘One thing about DVDs is that they give an amazing entry point into fitness and health regimes for women who are maybe a little bit scared of the gym, or don’t know how. So for that I think they can be good, but you’ve got to be honest.’

As she discussed where she is with things now, she went on: ‘I still work out with my PT and enjoy it. It’s become a big part of my life, I’ve just got more of a balance. there’s workouts and spin classes and workouts in my life, but there’s also pizza and gin and tonics. Life’s too short’.

Vicky, who is engaged to businessman John Noble, discussed her fiance and forthcoming nuptials, saying: ‘We are open to (babies). We’re doing a lot of practicing Lorraine! The wedding is going to happen next summer, in July. between you and me – you’re invited!’
