San Antonio Spurs star rookie Victor Wembanyama secured a triple-double on Monday night, but without the more-common assists and with 10 blocks instead.

The 7-foot-4 Wembanyama finished the win over the Toronto Raptors with 27 points, 14 rebounds, 10 blocks and five assists in only 29 minutes of game action.

The Spurs are the worst team in the Western Conference and the third-worst team in the NBA, currently 16.5 games out of a spot in the Play-In Tournament.

No NBA player had accomplished a triple-double with blocks as one of the three categories with a double-digit stat in more than three years before Monday evening.

Atlanta’s Clint Capela was the last player to have blocks be part of a triple-double in January 2021. That was also the last time, before Wembanyama, any player had blocked 10 or more shots in a game.

The NBA record for most triple-doubles with blocks as one of the three categories belongs to Hakeem Olajuwon, just ahead of Dikembe Mutombo, and two more than former Spurs center David Robinson.

Along with Robinson, the only other Spur to accomplish the feat was Artis Gilmore.

The Spurs next game is Wednesday against the Dallas Mavericks.
