Celebrities have taken to social media to congratulate the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after their first appearance with baby Archie yesterday. 

Victoria Beckham led the tributes on Instagram, writing: ‘Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex #PrinceHarry and #MeghanMarkle on their baby boy! So happy for you both. x VB.’

Victoria, 45, who attended the royal wedding with husband David last year, shared the message with a photo of the Sussex family taken at Windsor Castle yesterday.

Meanwhile Peter Andre, 46, seemed particularly taken with little Archie, sharing a string of Instagram posts in quick succession.

Harry and Meghan sent royal fans across the world into a frenzy yesterday when they took part in a photocall in St George’s Hall, Windsor Castle, with their newborn son. 

The two-day-old infant was lovingly cradled by his adoring father and watched attentively by Meghan, who was herself pictured for the first time in six weeks since withdrawing from public life ahead of the birth.

Speaking for only three minutes from inside the majestic St George’s Hall at Windsor Castle, a radiant Meghan declared: ‘It’s magic, it’s pretty amazing. He’s just been the dream so it’s been a special couple of days.

‘I have the two best guys in the world so I’m really happy. He has the sweetest temperament, he’s really calm.’

Four hours later, the new parents revealed their son’s full name on their Instagram account: Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. 

The combination of the appearance and name reveal prompted an outpouring of support online. 

Andre, a father of four, appeared smitten by the family photos. Sharing one, he wrote: ‘Love them. Congratulations.’ 

Minutes later he added a close-up shot of Archie, adding: ‘Ah can’t stop posting these pics. Emily help!!! Beautiful just beautiful. Congratulations,’ appealing to wife Emily to intervene. 

He followed up with a third post, showing a meme of the Sussex family.
