Victoria Beckham displays her impeccable sense of style in a red satin dress with white lace floral motifs as she walks hand-in-hand with husband David to dinner in New York

Victoria Beckham and her husband David showed off their impeccable senses of style as they stepped out for dinner in New York City on Thursday.

Fashion designer Victoria, 49, looked ravishing in a red satin dress with matching heels for her date with retired footballer David, 48.

The garment featured a plunging neckline and an asymmetrical hem, and white lace floral motifs on the skirt.

She carried a cream handbag under her arm and walked hand-in-hand with Golden Balls.

David looked dapper in a navy blue pinstripe suit which he teamed with a white T-shirt.

He completed his look by wearing a pair of white trainers for the evening.

It comes after David poured cold water on the idea he could make a sensational return to his former football club Manchester United as an ambassador.

The move was said to be a possibility if the Glazer family sell to Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

David previously struck a deal to partner with Qatar for the FIFA World Cup last year.

He took on a tournament ambassador role, despite plenty of criticism.

But despite Qatar’s ongoing attempt to purchase his former club, David claims there has been ‘no discussion’ of him holding any role should their takeover bid be successful.

‘At the moment there’s been no discussion,’ the former England and Manchester United star told CNBC.

‘I have had a long-standing relationship with Qatar because of my involvement with PSG… but there’s been no discussion at the moment.’

The Glazers put the club up for sale 11 months ago, but despite several bids from Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe – and protests from fans – the impasse appears no closer to being resolved.

Links to Qatar mean that David has been viewed as a potential bridge for new owners, with the 48-year-old a six-time Premier League champion at Old Trafford.

Last year, David was criticised for controversially agreeing to serve as ambassador for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

He was paid £10m to endorse the tournament and insisted ‘engagement is the only way of making change’.
