Victoria Beckham is ‘at war with Stella McCartney after hiring the designer’s nanny’

Victoria Beckham has reportedly sparked a feud with Stella McCartney, after allegedly hiring her nanny and attempting to employ a member of her fashion team.

According to The Sun, the 45-year-old former Spice Girl’s alleged actions led to fellow fashion designer Stella, 48, uninviting the Beckhams from a family soirée – prompting Victoria to reportedly send her an email begging for forgiveness.

A source told the publication: ‘Victoria is distraught. She wants the best for her family, and heard on the playground grapevine that Stella’s nanny was one of the best in town. She got her number and made her a lucrative offer to jump ship.

‘When Stella found out, she went nuclear. This was blow number one. The final nail in the friendship coffin came when Victoria tried to recruit Stella’s head of studio.

‘After this, an invite to a family party Stella and her husband Alasdhair Willis had organised was rescinded. Stella has lots of friends in high places and obviously Victoria does not want to become a pariah in the celebrity world.’

Victoria – who, like Stella, is the mother of four children – is said to be particularly worried about her eight-year-old daughter Harper’s friendship with Stella’s offspring Reiley, nine, being affected by the reported fallout.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Victoria Beckham and Stella McCartney for comment.

In July of 2017, it was reported that Victoria had fallen foul of Stella and her family, after she publicly shared a snapshot of her daughter Harper at Buckingham Palace.

Stella was said to be furious with Victoria and David for sharing a picture of her daughter Reiley posing alongside Harper and her schoolfriends at the tea party, hosted by Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York.

The fashion designer, who likes to keep her daughter out of the spotlight was said to be ‘spitting feathers’ after the snapshot went viral, according to The Sun.

A source said of Stella at the time: ‘She is especially furious because she has an OBE and has nothing but respect for the royal family. She hoped no-one would notice it was Reiley and has outlined the rules to her staff.’

Reiley and Harper first became friends after David hired Stella’s husband Alasdhair as a style consultant in 2010, following his move to the LA Galaxy football team.

Things were all smiles for Harper at the time of the July 2017 event, which took place in the days surrounding her sixth birthday.

The little girl also dressed like royalty for the occasion – in a blue gown like her heroine Princess Elsa from the hit Disney film Frozen.

Details of the supposedly ‘private’ tea party were shrouded in secrecy until both David and Victoria decided to treat their combined tens of millions of followers on Instagram to a series of photographs to mark Harper’s birthday.

The ‘indiscreet’ publication of the pictures – showing the youngster enjoying the run of the royal residence – is said to have caused frustration at the Palace.

One image was taken by the former footballer inside Andrew’s private office with Princess Eugenie, it is understood.

Eugenie, 29, who is eighth in line to the throne, could be seen kneeling down with her arms around two of Harper’s five friends.

Underneath the picture, David wrote: ‘Lucky Harper meeting a real life princess at the Palace x.’

A third photograph showed Harper on her own, holding a red balloon in the Palace’s central quadrangle, with the message from mother Victoria: ‘Our little birthday princess x Kisses.’

Former footballer David also shared a snapshot of Harper posing with his mother Sandra as uploaded the images in honour of his youngest child’s birthday.

He wrote: ‘One last picture of the birthday girl … Just to be clear this wasn’t the Palace opening the gates for Harper’s birthday party, this was a tea party where us and other guests were invited, so it was a beautiful thing to do with my mum, Harper plus a few school friends… We were honored [sic] to be able to [be] there…’
