Victoria breaks record with 1,438 new Covid cases – almost double the state’s previous high – and five deaths
Victoria has recorded a massive spike in new Covid cases with 1,438 new infections and five deaths reported on Thursday.
The figure is the largest jump the state has seen during the Delta outbreak, there were 867 new Covid-19 cases announced on Wednesday.
Victoria is edging closer to the NSW peak, which was 1,599 Covid cases on September 11.
