Victoria has reported 1185 new Covid cases – and seven deaths – amid a surge in Omicrom case numbers overnight.
In NSW, 260 new cases and two deaths have been confirmed.
A total of 155 coronavirus patients are in hospital, with 28 currently in intensive care.
On Monday, just 25 Omicron cases were recorded across both states.
