Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has received a spate of disgraceful comments after she took to social media to celebrate a huge milestone in Australian sporting history.
This year’s Boxing Day Test broke a record that has stood for 87 years, with 350,700 people flocking to the MCG to watch Australia clinch an enthralling victory against India and go 2-1 up in the Border-Gavaskar series.
It surpassed the total attendance of 350,534 who flocked to the iconic stadium to watch Don Bradman smash 270 runs against England in the 1937 Ashes Series.
Many have taken to social media to celebrate the huge milestone, with Victorian Premier Allen writing on X: ‘We’ve just broken the record for biggest Test cricket crowd in Australian sporting history.’
Unfortunately, the comments under her celebratory message were filled with many disgraceful messages.
One X user wrote: ‘Send back all the immigrants.’
‘Congrats on mass immigration that nobody asked for,’ another said.

But the replies to the post were filled with disgusting comments. Daily Mail Australia has chosen not to publish them all
Allan, who took over as Victoria’s Premier in 2023, also published a second post that read: ‘Shout out to all the Aussie and India fans who made it happen’
There were multiple other messages in the comments of Allan’s post, but Daily Mail Australia has chosen not to publish them.
The record at the MCG was broken after an incredible 74,362 passed through the turnstiles on Monday to watch Pat Cummins’ side pull off a thrilling final-day victory.
India had been set a target of 340 runs in 92 overs after Australia had managed a score of 234 in their second innings.
Rohit Sharma’s side stepped up to the crease, but faltered under the pressure of Australia’s bowlers, with the India captain, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli all falling for 33 runs on the final day.
Yashasvi Jaiswal backed up his first-innings score of 82 with a run haul of 84 before he was controversially dismissed. An Australian DRS review appeared to show that the opener had knicked a Cummins delivery behind to Alex Carey, but snicko showed no spike after the ball had crossed his bat and glove.
The third umpire overturned the on-field decision of not out, citing the significant deviation in the ball’s flight, leaving many India fans incensed, including the vice-president of the Indian Cricket Board, Rajeev Shukla.
‘Yashasvi Jaiswal was clearly not out. Third umpire should have taken note of what technology was suggesting. While overruling field umpire third umpire should have solid reasons,’ he wrote on X.
Some though, thought it was a clear-cut decision, including former Australian captain Ricky Ponting.

Australia took a 2-1 lead in the Border Gavaskar series on Monday after beating India by 184 runs
‘They can make of it what they like – that clearly hit the glove,’ Ponting said.
‘I called it at the time, Jaiswal started to walk, as soon as the Aussies went upstairs, he started to take a couple of steps away.
‘Snicko hasn’t proven it to be correct, but the umpire picked up on the deflection, froze it where the ball was on the end of the glove and as far as I’m concerned there was no argument whatsoever.’
Rohit Sharma also spoke out on the matter, conceding it had appeared to hit Jaiswal’s glove on the way through to Carey.
‘I don’t know what to make of that because the technology didn’t show anything, but with the naked eye it seemed like he did touch something,’ the India cricket captain said.
He did, however, question the use of the review technology.
‘I don’t know how the umpires want to use the technology, but in all fairness, I think he did touch the ball,’ Sharma added.
Despite that, the game continued, with India left on 140-7, but just five overs later another controversial incident followed after Akash Deep mistimed a shot out Travis Head at silly midwicket.

Controversy surriounded Yashasvi Jaiswal’s dismissal, after the third umpire overturned an on-field not out decision
There was initial doubt over whether Deep had struck Scott Boland’s delivery with his bat, with Cummins’ side opting to review the initial decision of not out.
This time snicko spiked as the ball crossed the bat, with the third umpire again overturning the on-field call.
From there, Scott Boland completed his hat-trick for the day, dismissing Jasprit Bumrah, before Nathan Lyon trapped Mohammed Siraj to end the match.
It leaves Australia 2-1 up in the Border-Gavaskar series, with both teams facing a quick turnaround of three days.
There is some doubt over some members of the squad though, with concerns surrounding the fitness of Mitchell Starc, who had been left wincing at the start of each spell as he warmed up.
‘We’ll see how everyone recovers tomorrow,’ Australia coach Andrew McDonald said. ‘Clearly, bowling last, it was a pretty attritional game, something that we’re not used to in the last few years.
‘We’ll see how the bodies are. Clearly ‘Starcy’ is carrying something of some description. We’ll assess that. But other than that, it looks as though we got through pretty well unscathed.
‘Short turnaround, recovery is important, and we’ll assess what the team looks like in Sydney based upon the surface, as we always do.
‘Any time you get through the game, it’s always a good indicator that you’re a chance at the next game. It didn’t stop (Starc). Clearly, there was a little bit of discomfort early on in spells, but once he got warm, it seems as though he was pretty free.’
