Taylor Swift’s trip to Foxborough, Massachusetts is being documented and shared worldwide – even by the very team that Swift is rooting against.

The New England Patriots official team Twitter account sent out a video of Swift – clad in a Kansas City Chiefs hat and watching new boyfriend Travis Kelce – as she sat and watched the game unfold.

That didn’t sit well with a number of Patriots fans – left puzzled and annoyed that their team would share images of a fan cheering for the opposing team, no matter how famous she is.

When her image was shown on the jumbotron at the game, a mix of boos and cheers erupted from the crowd at a stadium that she is very familiar with.

But the reaction from fans of the team was widely negative – with many asking for the post to be taken down.

The Patriots’ official Twitter account made a weird choice in posting a video of Taylor Swift

‘Hey @Patriots and @GilletteStadium,’ one fan wrote, ‘You’re supposed to fawn over @taylorswift13 during concerts, not football games!’

Another account bluntly said, ‘Have some shame’.

‘SOFT! Fire the social media person,’ another account posted.

‘Why are the patriots posting this she’s on the other side,’ a different account wondered.

Another wrote, ‘Embarrassing, whoever is running this account.’

Comments under the same video posted to Instagram returned a lot of the same results – with Patriots fans all wondering why the team would post a rival fan.

It’s not like the Patriots were doing particularly well at this point of the game either. The post came in the midst of the second quarter – which finished with the Patriots behind 14-10.

Things only got worse for New England from that point on – with two field goals from Harrison Butker sandwiching a Clyde Edwards-Helaire touchdown reception to make it a 27-10 scoreline by the time the third quarter ended.

The Patriots have the second worst record in the NFL, entering the game with a record of 3-10.
