Shocking video has emerged showing two restaurant employees being hurled into the air and as they try to secure an event tent during strong winds in South Carolina – with one plummeting down onto the eatery’s roof.

The large tent had been set up at the Esso Club in Clemson on Monday for a Clemson University event, managers of the destination explained to WYFF.

Strong gusts can be seen lifting the tent in the air. Managers of the restaurant said the dangerous winds lifted two employees off the ground as they tried to hold it down.

‘The bigger tent that we had installed that morning kind of just took off,’ manager Candice Bell explained.

‘All our stuff is getting blown away, and I’m trying to save all the work we put into it,’ explained employee Samuel Foster.

Foster hit a gutter as he came flying back to the ground. The employee had to get stitches above his left eye and also suffered several cuts and bruises.

Another employee was blown back by the wild winds and slammed into a table.

‘It took a second to register, but then I’m, like, 20 feet in the air. And all I could think about was, “I’ve got to land on this roof,” Foster said.

‘I’m really thankful for God looking out for me there. Esso’s been really supportive. My friends, my fraternity – I’m really thankful for all of that.’

Management said that the building was not damaged during the storm and was able to reopen on Tuesday.
