Police in Georgia are asking for the public’s help in identifying and locating a suspect who was caught on video stealing a woman’s purse and running her over with a pickup truck.
The Gwinnett County Police Department on Thursday released surveillance video recorded at around 6pm on August 9 in Peachtree Corners, capturing the violent mugging.
The CCTV footage depicts the victim walking on Technology Parkway with her purse slung from her shoulder when a blue Honda Ridgeline pulls up next to her.

A few seconds later, a female suspect emerges from the front passenger seat and yanks the victim’s bag with force.

The video shows the suspect pulling the woman’s bag out of her grasp and jumping back into her truck, but the victim continues resisting.
The woman was still holding onto to her bag when the Honda took off from the scene.
According to police, the victim was dragged down the driveway of the nearby Marriott hotel until the truck ran over her foot and she had to let go of her purse, Atlanta Journal Constitution reported.
The victim suffered significant damage to her foot but refused to be transported to a hospital.

The robber seen in the video has been described as an African-American woman between 30 and 40 years old, standing at 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-7 tall and weighing between 150-170lbs.
She was last seen wearing a black tank top and her hair was at shoulder length.
The driver of the truck is not captured in the video and has not been identified as of Thursday afternoon, but police say that person will likely face charges as well.
