But after delivering heartfelt vows, meeting with Alycia’s younger brother, and gushing over his late grandmother, the plain-spoken tradesman drew breathless applause on social media.

With sparks flying between Matt and Alycia, who had been planning her dream wedding since she was a young girl, the nation quickly began to root for the new couple.
One fan of the bride and groom penned: ‘I love Matthew and Alycia. They’re so lovely together. And the way he was with her brother [who has autism]- totally normal and totally not patronising made me actually cry’.
Earlier in the episode, Alycia was left alone at the altar, as Matt ran late due to bad traffic and a wardrobe malfunction.

However, he soon sauntered into the venue, cheekily saying: ‘Better late than never’.
