A traveller has been called out for resting their bare feet up on the armrest of a chair while on a plane.

Another passenger on the Virgin flight, which was flying from the Gold Coast to Melbourne on Wednesday afternoon, snapped a photo of the inappropriate act.

‘This would have to be one of the most disgusting things that I’ve seen on a flight in a long time,’ they wrote, sharing the photo to a Facebook group.

The passenger sitting in the seat in front had a service dog with them while the seat beside them was empty.

The person behind them carelessly hitched both of their feet on the empty chair’s armrest, shocking a nearby traveller.

The passenger who snapped the photo revealed that after ‘putting up with it’ for 20 minutes, they politely asked the person to remove their feet.

‘They thought it was OK because the seat was empty,’ they said.

Other Facebook users revealed their own horror stories while in the air.

‘I’ve once been in the seat where the feet protruded. Attached to a backpacker (so you can imagine the smell). Long-haul from Paris to Singapore. It was extremely unpleasant and I draped a blanket over them,’ one said.

‘Reminds me of the time flying and the person sitting next to me started picking the dead skin off of his feet and flicking it away,’ another said.
