Wagga Wagga teen charged with murder of 27-year-old woman

A Wagga Wagga teenager has been charged over the murder of a 27-year-old woman who went missing nearly two months ago.

Allecha Suzette Boyd was last seen leaving a supermarket in Coolamon, 560km south-east of Sydney, on August 10.

A 19-year-old man was arrested as part of New South Wales police Strike Force Amias, which was established after officers suspected she had met foul play.

Detectives attended a home on Gurwood Street about 5.20pm Tuesday where they arrested the accused man.

A loaded shortened rifle was also seized from the property after a crime scene warrant was executed.

The man was charged with murder, possession of an unauthorised firearm and possession of ammunition without a permit,not keeping a prohibited firearm safe, as well as breach of bail.  

Investigations are continuing into locating Ms Boyd’s body, with detectives said to be scouring nearby bushland, The Daily Telegraph reports.

On Tuesday a friend took to the public page to post on behalf of Ms Boyd’s shocked and saddened family.

‘With all due respect, please keep our family in mind… we are all trying to grieve at this moment,’ the message read.

Others left heartfelt tributes to the young woman, who they called ‘bubbly,’ ‘beautiful’ and a ‘princess’.

‘RIP beautiful girl, my heart breaks for those around you. Allecha you were loved by many, you had one of the biggest smiles and bubbly personalities,’ one person wrote.

While another added: ‘Heartbreaking news after all this time holding onto hope she would return home safely to her loved ones.’

‘Allecha is a caring and loving person, she would travel to the end of the world to make sure anyone is safe and okay,’ they said.

‘She has excelled in life, won awards and travelled across the world with Jamie Oliver as a chef and very is family orientated.’

Ms Boyd had been working as a chef at the Farmers Home Hotel and was living with a friend in nearby Lake Albert before her disappearance.

She was also believed to have been travelling in a green and silver Subaru that was since seized by police.

The 19-year-old accused of her murder was denied bail and is expected to appear in Wagga Wagga local court on Wednesday.
