Wahroonga: Body found in ritzy Sydney suburb near Cliff Oval

Horror as a woman’s body is found on a popular walking trail in an affluent Sydney suburb – as police launch an investigation into the death and try to identify her

The body of a woman has been found on a popular walking track in Sydney’s ritzy upper north shore.

The woman was found on a track near Cliff Oval, a sporting ground in  North Wahroonga, just before 1pm on Thursday, police say.

They received calls from the public after her body was uncovered. 

‘About 12.40pm (Thursday July 14 2022), officers from Kuring Gai Police Area Command were called to Cliff Oval on Daly Ave, North Wahroonga, after reports a body had been found,’ a NSW Police spokeswoman said.

‘Police located the body of a woman on a nearby fire trail.

‘She is yet to be formally identified but is believed to be aged in her 40s.

‘A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death has commenced.’
