Waleed Aly left squirming as The Project hosts mock his manhood

The Project’s Waleed Aly was left redfaced after his co-hosts made fun of his manhood on Friday night’s installment.

The panel were discussing the recent suggestion by scientists that chemicals in plastic are ‘shrinking male genitalia’.

But the broadcaster, 39, was rendered speechless when co-host Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann asked: ‘Waleed, is this the real reason you started the ban the bag campaign?’

Referring to Waleed’s recent passionate support of lightweight plastic bag bans implemented in retailers, Coles and Woolies, the media personality was left squirming in his chair at the crass remark.

While panelist Meshel Laurie laughed loudly and Gorgi Coghlan frowned at the crack, the father of two chuckled nervously.

But Waleed quickly broke the awkward moment by asking:  ‘Do you get the feeling the scientists behind this were trying to look for justification?

In stitches, Lehmo responded, calling it ‘self-fulfilling research!’

And while Waleed cops humiliating jibes on Channel Ten, it’s unlikely his wife, Dr Susan Carland will endure similar while hosting her new show on SBS.

It was recently revealed the Muslim feminist will front a new quiz show for gifted children in November, titled Child Genius.

After her new TV role was announced at the network showcase on Thursday night, Susan took to Instagram to share the exciting news with her fans.

Following the news of veteran reporter Lee Lin Chin’s resignation at the network, Susan joked: ‘No, I’m not taking over from Lee Lin Chin.’

According to the Herald Sun, the SBS show will follow clever children, aged from seven to 12 over six episodes.
