Walid Assaad: Bikie gangland figure’s odd friendship with trans makeup influencer that is the talk of Sydney’s underworld as he receives thousands in TikTok ‘diamonds’ for dance videos

A bizarre friendship between the brother of a slain Sydney hitman and a trans makeup influencer from the U.S. has stunned the city’s underworld.

Walid Assaad, whose brother Hamad ‘The Executioner’ Assaad was assassinated in a gangland hit seven years ago, has been seen dancing wildly on TikTok livestreams to entertain U.S.-based social media millionaire Jeffree Star.

In return, the makeup magnate, who runs his own eponymous cosmetics firm, is said to have been gifting Assaad up to $40,000-a-week in TikTok ‘diamonds’, which can be converted back into cash, for the past month.

Until Thursday, Assaad’s TikTok account WheresWallysWorld, which has more than 36,000 followers, was using a photograph of Mr Star wearing a pink balaclava as its profile picture, and a bio which read ‘STAR FAM’ along with two gold star emojis.

The close relationship, which has seen the pair spending hours online together in TikTok livestreams, has stunned Sydney’s hyper-masculine underworld fraternity.

‘He’s belly-dancing for Jeffree,’ said former Nomads bikie Moudi Tajjour, who used to chat online with Assaad. ‘Something’s going on there.

‘I don’t know what you’re doing, Wally, but you’ve sold your soul to the devil, bro.’

Assaad has previously posted a video of himself with Comanchero boss Tarek Zahed, who lost an eye in another gangland hit which killed his brother Omar at an Auburn gym in May 2022.

Assaad, 35, has also had multiple run-ins with police in previous years and has been the subject of a Firearms Prohibition Order since 2016.

He is currently facing charges that he terrorised his family at his mother’s home in Villawood in Sydney’s west, allegedly turning on her and two other family members.

Fairfield Local Court this week heard he was accused of arming himself with a knife to intimidate three relatives in the tea-time row at the family home in September 2022.

He is accused of actual bodily harm against Hamad Assaad and DV-related common assault against Basmat and Ahlam Assaad, the court was told on Monday.

Police have now taken apprehended violence orders out against Assaad to protect the three family members from him after the incident.

However, he is also accused of breaching a DV-related AVO in Villawood the following day and then resisting arrest.

He was granted bail on Monday with a ban on all alcohol and unprescribed drugs until the cases return to court in April 2024.

Police have taken out a further AVO against Assaad to protect his other brother Tarek after a rift between the pair blew up in March this year.

And in 2022, Assaad accidentally live-streamed a vicious attack on him during a home invasion on his house in Georges Hall in Sydney’s west.

He was knocked unconscious when gun-wielding thugs burst through the front door and held his girlfriend at gunpoint, ordering her to hand over cash before escaping with armfuls of designer clothes.

Assaad was in the middle of a TikTok livestream with former gangster Tajjour when the attack happened, which left the reformed bikie speechless at the time.

Assaad returned to social media the following day, still dazed, bruised and wearing a neck brace, swearing revenge on his attackers.

He says on his social media profile that he is a personal trainer, and court documents reveal he is ‘currently employed with exact income unknown’, but owns his own home with a $2,000-a-month mortgage.

‘We used to be mates,’ admitted Tajjour on a recent TikTok livestream. ‘I’ve never hung out with him during the day but we used to go live [on TikTok] together.

‘I had a bad feeling about this bloke – then I saw these videos with Jeffree Star.

‘There’s no way Wally’s going to do belly-dancing for Jeffree unless he’s secured a mansion somewhere.’

Multiple other TikTok accounts have posted clips of Assaad dancing for Jeffree and the pair gifting each other ‘diamonds’.

One added the caption: ‘Aussie TikToker Wally shows how far he will go for Jeffree Star’s gifts.’ Others have posted clips of the huge gifts Mr Star has given Assaad, with captions like: ‘Jeffree Star drops big on Whereswally’.

TikTok users can buy coins with real cash to exchange for diamonds that they can then gift to other users during livestreams, with 16,500 diamonds worth about $400 which can later be cashed in via PayPal.

Recordings of TikTok livestreams featuring Assaad show him being gifted hundreds of thousands of diamonds in one three-minute ‘TikTok’ battle, and even millions over the course of a night, with most apparently coming from Mr Star.

One follower added: ‘The “battles” are just three minutes of banter or challenges or similar between two TikTokers and the winner is who is gifted the most by viewers.

‘It’s money for nothing, so you’ve got to wonder what is going on in the conversations offline between Wally and Jeffree.’

Daily Mail Australia is not suggesting anything illegal is occurring, just that the interactions have sparked interest and curiosity among followers and associates.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Assaad and Mr Star for comment.

Assaad’s brother Hamad, who had ‘Executioner’ tattooed around the base of his neck and was believed responsible for a string of gangland hits, was shot dead in the driveway of his home in Georges Hall in 2016.

His suspected killers, Kemel ‘Blackie’ Barakat and Mejid Hamzy, were later executed themselves.
