Dustin Schoenhofer, the long-time drummer for the Detroit metalcore band Walls of Jericho, has been arrested on trafficking charges after he was caught driving in Oregon with more than 630lbs of marijuana in the bed of his pickup truck.

According to a press release from the Oregon State Police, on October 23 at 3pm, a state trooper pulled over Schoenhofer’s 2015 Chevy pickup truck on Highway 140E milepost 15 for speeding.

Trooper Adam Miller wrote in his log entry he ‘smelled a faint odor of raw marijuana near the back of the truck,’ reported KTVZ.

The trooper obtained probable cause to search the musician’s vehicle and discovered 632.5lbs of marijuana and 36.8lbs of suspected butane honey oil extract, also known as hash oil or cannabis oil, which is a highly concentrated form of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

An investigation has uncovered that the marijuana and BHO extract were destined for Ohio, where Schoenhofer lives.

When questioned about the massive bales of pot packed in black trash bags in the bed of his pickup truck, Schonehofer reportedly told the trooper he ‘didn’t know the marijuana was in the back of it,’ Miller wrote.

The drummer was booked into the Klamath County Jail on charges of exporting marijuana; exporting extract; possession and distribution of a controlled substance-marijuana, and possession and distribution of a controlled substance-extract.

He has since been released after posting $45,000 bond.
