- Marks and Spencer withdrew girls’ pyjamas amid fears they pose choking hazard
- The check nightwear for girls aged 7-15 features a drawstring on the hoodie top
- Feared some people may have already wrapped them up as Christmas presents
Marks and Spencer has been forced to withdraw a girls’ range of pyjamas because the drawstring tie poses a choking hazard.
The high street giant has issued the warning to customers who have bought the check nightwear for girls aged seven-15, retailing at between £18 and £22.
Marks and Spencer say no injuries have been reported so far but they have found ‘the position of the drawstring on the garment could present a potential safety hazard’.

The check pattern pyjama bottoms come with a grey hooded top and have been on sale in M&S stores since September 30.
With nightwear proving a popular choice among Christmas shoppers, people are being advised to return the product as soon as possible.
An M&S spokesman said: ‘Customers who have purchased the product or received it as a gift are asked to return it immediately to any M&S store, where a full refund will be given.
‘The safety of our customers is our top priority and we are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.’

The store said the position of the drawstring on the garment could present a potential safety hazard, though no injuries had been reported so far.
M&S has established that the nightwear pictured has been affected by a design fault. While no injuries have been reported, there is a possibility that the position of the drawstring on the garment could present a potential safety hazard.
The safety alert follows a row over the M&S Christmas advert, in which a number of viewers claimed they could hear one character swear at Paddington Bear.
