Sports Illustrated magazine has been attacked over its latest front cover on the national anthem protests.
The cover – with a title of ‘A nation divided, sports united’ – features ten people associated in some way with the demonstrations.
Two of them have already come out against it.
But the absence of one man in particular – former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick – has caused the most fury.
NBA star Stephen Curry, who plays for the Golden State Warriors, told the San Francisco Chronicle that the cover is ‘terrible’.
He added: ‘If you don’t have Kaepernick front and center on that, something’s wrong.’
Curry also objected to being shown linking arms with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
He said: ‘That makes zero sense at all. He had the most on-the-fence comment.’
Sports stars have been protesting against what they believe is racial inequality and police brutality towards non-white Americans since 2016.
But demonstrations during the playing of the Star-Spangled Banner drew enormous attention when President Donald Trump attacked the athletes as unpatriotic and suggested they be fired.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr joined Curry in attacking the Sports Illustrated cover.

He said: ‘I looked at it and went, “Where the hell is Kap?”
Speaking with The Athletic, he added: ‘If the article is about activism in sports, how is Kaepernick not on the cover? I just don’t understand how you can omit the guy who basically began this movement.’
President Trump rescinded an invitation to the White House made to the Warriors after learning that Curry did not want to attend.
