The Golden State Warriors’ struggles nearly landed head coach Steve Kerr in trouble at home with his wife.

Following the Warriors’ 124-123 loss to the Sacramento Kings earlier this week, when shooting guard Malik Monk hit a game-winning shot after Golden State blew a 24-point lead, Kerr had a rough night’s sleep.

Kerr revealed his wife’s message following the sleepless night.

‘I’ll tell you what happened; I got home from Sacramento, I’m up for a while, I’m thinking about everything, I get into bed, and (I’m) tossing and turning,’ Kerr told KNBR.

‘It’s probably two o’clock in the morning, and Margot wakes up and goes, ‘Jesus, it’s only November. Would you just relax?’ And I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’ And she goes, ‘All I can hear are these heavy sighs, tossing and turning, just go to sleep.’

The Warriors are currently 9-10 and have won only three of their last 11 games after starting the season 6-2.

Their struggles on the court have been compounded by availability issues of several key players, most notably four-time All-Star Draymond Green.

Green was suspended five games after putting Minnesota Timberwolves’ Ruby Gobert in a head lock.

He also picked up a technical foul when he returned against the Kings that aided San Antonio’s monumental comeback.

‘(It’s) disappointing because Draymond, he drives a lot of our results,’ Kerr told 95.7 The Game in a separate interview during the week.

‘He’s a very powerful figure and he knows that and he and I have talked about that. But he has to harness that power.’

‘I was disappointed last night that he got that tech, reaction to the foul afterward because the momentum really swung in Sacramento’s favor after that. So, he’s got to be better, and he knows that.’

The Warriors were also dealt a recent double injury blow after key rotational player Gary Payton II suffered a torn calf, while 12-time All-Star Chris Paul picked up a lower leg nerve injury.
