Watch as man with the longest tongue on the planet paints a picture

A man who holds the Guinness World Record for the longest tongue on the planet at 3.97 inches painted a picture of This Morning hosts.

Nick Stoeberl, 33, from California, joined Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield to showcase his unique talent.

The American government official revealed he can use his tongue to type emails, paint portraits, and reach incredibly difficult places such as his elbow.

The orthodontic department of the University of Edinburgh’s dental school found that the mean average tongue length for adults is 3.1 inches (7.9 cm) for women, and 3.3 inches (8.5 centimetres) for men.

During the show Nick even painted a picture of the hosts using just his tongue which he wrapped in clingfilm before hand.

Asked by Phil how he found out that he had a long tongue he replied: ‘If your born with it, you are kind of aware of it, as a kid sticking my tongue out of course it was longer than other kids who may have been sticking their tongues out at me.

‘In high school I got the nickname Gene Simmons that’s when it kind of became more popular.’

Gene Simmons, the bassist for the iconic 70s rock band KISS, once insured his tongue for £831,200.00.

Nick went onto reveal that the process of getting the Guinness World Record was ‘a complicated process.’

He said: ‘They sent me criteria which I had to follow to the T and part of that was going to medical staff.

‘You have to take three measurements from the top of the closed lip to the tip of the tongue and the average of those three get put on a medical statement and it’s all filmed, there are witnesses and all that for Guinness to evaluate it.’

Speaking of the benefits of his extremely long tongue he said he doesn’t have to use a napkin if he gets food on his face as he is able to lick it off.

‘In restaurants I do try to be polite and use a napkin but if I can’t find one then I just sort of [licks his face] , it’s very eco friendly.

He went onto say that socially it’s quite useful to make friends as it’s a cool party trick to have.

Nick mentioned his brother has quite a long tongue however it isn’t as long as his one.

He also mentioned that he is known as ‘Licasso’, a play on words for Spanish painter Picasso, as he can also paint with his tongue.

Nick said: ‘ I was given the name Licasso because of my artwork, I was happy to use my world record for something that can be productive and expressive so I have been able to do that.’

Wrapping his tongue in clingfilm, Nick put paint on the tip of his tongue and started painting on a canvas.

After Holly asked how he discovered he could this, Nick responded with a mouth full of cling film that he saw someone attempt it ‘on YouTube’ and he thought it was ‘pretty cool.’

Nick achieved the world record in 2012 and over a decade later, he still easily holds the title for the longest tongue in the world.

He told Guinness last year: ‘I use my tongue to create… you could call it art I guess, I wrap my tongue in cling wrap, dip that in acrylic [paint] and apply that to a canvas.

‘I know it’s rather long and I can do that so why not express myself through that medium?’
