Watch Scotland fans hilariously grapple with dilemma – would they trade getting out of the group if it meant England winning Euro 2024?

Scotland fans were left grappling a dilemma after being asked by Mail Sport whether they would trade Steve Clarke’s side making it to the knock-out stage, if it meant England would win Euro 2024.

Mail Sport posed the question to members of the Tartan Army, who are following the Scotland team in vast numbers in Germany.

Fans were asked for their response after Scotland’s 1-1 draw against Switzerland on Wednesday night, a result that keeps their hopes of reaching the knock-out stage alive.

A Scotland victory over Hungary on Sunday could take the national team into the knock-out stages for the first time.

Supporters, however, remained split over whether they would trade reaching the last-16 if it meant Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions emerge triumphant in Germany.

Others were more open to the prospect

Some Scotland supporters were insistent it would be a trade they would be unwilling to accept.

‘Oh, get tae f*** no way,’ one Scotland fan responded, with his friend adding ‘Even if we progress, you’ll never win it anyway.’

‘Never, ever, ever we’re still having to hear about ’66 for f*** sake’.

Another responded ‘Absolutely not, no, I’d rather jump in the river of Cleland.’

Others were more open to the prospect if it mean Scotland reach the knock-out stage for the first time.

‘Yeah, because that’s progress for Scotland,’ one responded when posed the question.

One member of the Tartan Army admitted they were relaxed about the prospect of England potentially winning the tournament, as they have other plans for the final in Berlin on July 14.

‘Yeah, because I’m on holiday when the finals there, so I won’t know about it anyway if England do win it,’ the fan said.

Scotland’s hopes of reaching the knock-out stage remain alive following the 1-1 draw with Switzerland on Wednesday.

Clarke’s side bounced back from being thrashed 5-1 in their opening game by Germany, with Scott McTominay’s deflected effort giving Scotland a first half lead.

A stunning Xherdan Shaqiri effort brought Switzerland back level in the 26th minute, with both teams playing out a 1-1 draw in the Group A clash.

Scotland lie third in the group ahead of Sunday’s opponents Hungary, who have been beaten in their opening two matches.

Supporters remain bullish about Scotland’s hopes of reaching the last-16, with the four best third placed teams also able to advance.

‘We have got a chance, we have kept it alive. We have got through that, maybe we could have snuck a win, but we are still alive for Sunday. Absolutely,’ one fan told Mail Sport.

‘Steve Clarke said before the campaign four points was what we needed and today we got the point, we have got to go to Hungary get the three points and we are through.’

Another added: ‘Same again, as of tonight. Turn up, get into their faces and let’s do it.’
